Japanese Prime minister Shinzo Abe made a controversial visit to Yakusini Shrine in Tokyo, on December 26th, where some Class-A war criminals (such as General Tojo) were enshrined. In the context with growing tensions about maritime issues with China (Senkaku islets in the East Sea China) and South Korea (Dodko islet in the East Sea for Koreans and Sea of Japan for Japanese, two different names are available depending on the protagonist) for maritime, this visit could anger more protagonists in the region.
The picture was taken in Ueno Park in Tokyo and represents the importance of the sea for Japan in the medieval period.
