P. Chrysanthou est l’un des metteurs en scène les plus connus de Chypre. En 1993, il a remporté le prix Abdi İpekçi pour Le Mur/P. Chrysanthou is one of the most famous filmmaker in Cyprus. He won in 1993 the Abdi İpekçi Peace Award for (Our wall), which promotes the links between Turkey and Greece.

P. Chrysanthou a également réalisé Akamas (2006), une comédie dramatique basée sur une histoire d’amour entre Rodou, une Chypriote grecque et Omeris, un Chypriote turc. Le film a connu un succès international, notamment à la Mostra de Venise en 2006/ Other movie, P. Chrysanthou Akamas (2006, English subtitles) is a drama about the troubled love story between Rodou, a Greek Cypriot woman and Omeris, a Turkish Cypriot man. The film has won international acclaim, most famously at the prestigious Venice Film Festival (2006).
